Education

Overview

Realizing that education benefits the lives of individuals and allows for the United States to compete globally in all facets of life-science, exploration, medicine, economics, art and culture; the government places high priority on promoting the nation's educational welfare.

By doing so, the government ensures education is accessible for all of its citizens regardless of race, color, place of origin, age and disability.

Government assistance, through the Department of Education, or ED, comes in many forms, especially funding. It assists needy students with financial aid, sponsors the GI Bill, and provides fellowship grants to individuals and project grants to schools and school districts in need of improvements.

But it's more than just an ATM Machine for the nation's educational system. The government also gathers and formulates information on everything educationally related, including teaching resources for instructors, school enrollment data, tips for parents if a child is bullied at school, college drinking prevention, career advice and overseas study programs. This information is then offered for free through brochures, pamphlets and online publications.

And the government also promotes educational improvement through numerous programs like the Quality Teacher in Every Classroom Initiative and the No Child Left Behind plan.
